Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was “working around the clock” to finalize civil defense measures in the event of an Iraqi attack. Netanyahu, who reiterated that Israel believes the chance of an attack is low, also stressed that Israel retains the right to defend itself. Meanwhile, Russia’s ambassador to Israel, Michael Bogdanov, said Moscow believes Iraq has no intention of taking military action against Israel.
