Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu turned down an invitation from the Norwegian government to attend a fifth anniversary commemoration of the Oslo accords. An aide to the premier said Netanyahu “thought it would not look good if he attended, when the Oslo work is not completed here.” Former Prime Minister Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat plan to attend the Aug. 23-24 events in the Norwegian capital.
