Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and President Clinton discussed Israeli- Palestinian peace talks and prospects for reviving talks with Syria during their meeting in Lisbon. Israel Radio quoted sources close to Barak as saying the prime minister wants to signal Damascus that Israel is still interested in a dialogue and to send a message to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat against dragging out the Israeli-Palestinian talks.
