Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak resigned as leader of the Labor Party and as a member of the Knesset after losing the election. During his resignation speech, however, Barak left open the possibility of accepting Prime Minister- elect Ariel Sharon’s invitation to form a national unity government.
