Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak said a police investigation launched into his party’s campaign finances would not hinder his efforts to reach peace accords with Syria and the Palestinian Authority. “This government was elected to advance the peace process and to do it without any connection to any internal problem that could arise in Israel,” he said after meeting with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo.
