Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak said that as long as contacts continue with the Palestinians, there is no reason to consider a national unity government with the opposition Likud Party. Meanwhile, Likud leader Ariel Sharon said there is no way the Likud would join a government that “weakened” Israel and called on Prime Minister Ehud Barak to agree on a date for new elections.
