Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak spoke by telephone with Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat to discuss the worst outburst of violence to hit the West Bank and Gaza Strip in two years. Barak demanded that the Palestinian Authority take all necessary steps to prevent more injuries to people on both sides.
