The General Motors Cancer Research Foundation has announced that Isaac Berenblum retired professor in the Department of Experimental Biology at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, is one of four recipients this year of its cancer research awards. Berenblum is to receive the Alfred P. Sloan Jr. Prize here Wednesday for his discovery which opens new avenues for understanding what cancer is, how it works and suggests new approaches to cancer prevention, the Foundation said. The award consists of a gold medal and $100,000.
