Israeli prosecutors offered closing statements in the trial of Marwan Barghouti, the Palestinian leader accused of murder. Barghouti, the former leader of Fatah in the West Bank and founder of Fatah’s offshoot the Al-Aksa Brigade, was arrested in April 2002 on 26 counts of murder, involvement in terrorist organizations and attempted murder, among other charges.
