Israeli publishers who participated in this year’s International Book Fair at Frankfurt reported that they did well from a business point of view and enjoyed a somewhat eased political atmosphere which permitted better contact with publishers from other countries, some of which have no diplomatic or cultural ties with Israel. The Frankfurt Book Fair is the largest in the world. It attracted 6,000 publishers from 77 countries this year and was reported to have been a major commercial success.
