Israeli security forces foiled a multiple bombing planned for Tel Aviv.

Troops stationed outside the West Bank city of Nablus on Sunday caught a Palestinian youth who tried to smuggle three bombs through a military checkpoint.

Israeli security sources said the explosives were to be used for attacks in Tel Aviv. It was not immediately clear which terrorist group was behind the alleged plot.

Shin Bet director Yuval Diskin told Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s Cabinet during its weekly session Sunday that Hamas, which seized control of the Gaza Strip in June, is trying to build up its forces in the West Bank ahead of a resumption of terrorist attacks from that territory against Israelis.
