Israeli settlement leaders plan to oppose Israeli implementation of the “road map” peace plan. Settler leaders met with Cabinet ministers in the Knesset on Monday, a day after the government gave its qualified endorsement of the initiative, which calls for the creation of a Palestinian state and a freeze on Israeli settlement building. One settler council leader, Pinchas Wallerstein, said settlers would launch a campaign against Israeli implementation of the initiative, Israel Radio reported.
