The Israeli soccer team schedules to play against the U.S. Olympic Soccer Team here next month will be composed of 18 top athletes from Israel’s three leading sports groups — Hapoel, Maccabi and Betar, it was revealed here today at a press conference by Samuel Stahl and Chaim Glovinsky, representing the Israel Football Association, Proceeds from the games which the Israelis will play will go to the United Jewish Appeal.
Stahl revealed that the Israeli athletes were withdrawn from front-line positions to train for their U.S. trip and that they are at present practicing in the former British Army base at Sarafand.
