Israeli teachers were urged Monday to take assignments in Jewish communities abroad which need them. Dr. Haim Hamiel, director general of the World Zionist Organization’s religious education department, said that without the support of Israeli educators, Jewish education in the diaspora could not survive. He said that currently about 270 Israeli teachers serve 1000 Jewish communities world-wide.
