The Israel-Transjordan mixed armistice commission met here for six hours, but United Nations and Jewish sources refused to disclose the subject of discussion. An Arab commission had discussed an agreement covering the demilitarized area near Government House and particularly the status of civilians in that area.
Israeli Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett arrived in Jerusalem this morning and conferred for several hours with Brig. Gen. William E. Riley. U.N. Chief of Staff. It was understood that they talked about the situation of Jerusalem and the work of the mixed commission.
The Arab radio in Ramallah said the commission reached a general agreement which left open only these points: the duration of the compact and the exact demarkation lines limiting civilian movement.
Meanwhile, Israeli Army and police forces today carried out a combined search operation of the Abu Gosh village, near Jerusalem. They were hunting Arab infiltrees from nearby Transjordan-held areas.
