Israeli troops killed two West Bank gunmen.
Undercover commandos circled an Islamic Jihad hideout in northern Jenin early Tuesday after receiving word of an impending Palestinian attack. Two of the terrorists tried to escape, opening fire at the Israelis, and were shot dead. Another six Palestinians were taken into custody.
An Israeli officer was lightly wounded in the clash, military officials said.
