Israeli troops shot and wounded a Palestinian youth who was trying to penetrate a perimeter fence surrounding a Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip. The army said the troops opened fire after the youth ignored orders to stop. Suspecting possible terrorist activity, the soldiers opened fire in accordance with standing orders, the army said.
