The Women Workers Conference of Israel today issued a call for the mobilization of women teachers, nurses and others trained in the medical field to volunteer for work with the immigrants.
The call was incorporated in a resolution adopted by the body at the conclusion of its seven-day convention. It also urged mothers who were nurses or medical technicians to devote at least a few hours each day to the vital work of accommodating the immigrants.
Another resolution demands full equality under the civil and religious law for Israeli women and equality for a son and a daughter in matters pertaining to inheritance. A third resolution demanded that in the event of a divorce in a family the mother be given the right of raising the children.
Among the guests attending the conference were about 100 American women who brought with them a resolution from the Pioneer Women pledging to raise $2,000,000 in the next two years to assist the various projects sponsored by the Women Workers.
