Thousands of Israelis flocked yesterday to ZOA House here to see films of the launching of the first American space satellite, “The Explorer.” The film was released by the United States Embassy. The crowd was so great that it was necessary to present six consecutive shows to satisfy the entire demand. Stormy applause greeted the ascent of the satellite every time it appeared on the screen.
Officials of ZOA House here announced plans today to honor the memory of two American officials who served in Israel, Dr. Thomas McGrail, former American attache here, and Dr. Lincoln Hale, former director of the U. S. Operations Mission in Israel, Plaques will be posted in the ZOA House for the two. Dr. Hale died in New York City recently while lecturing on Israel. Dr. McGrail died in an airline crash.
