The director of the Moiseyev Dance Company of the Soviet Union, Menahem Levinsohn, has invited the Batsheva Dance Company of Israel to attend a performance by his troupe in return for attendance at a Batsheva performance by himself and Igor Aleksandrovich Moiseyev. Both companies are currently appearing here.
Levinsohn phoned yesterday the director of the Batsheva Company, Iosef Frankel, and invited all the Israelis to attend the Soviet show. Most of the Israelis came to watch the performance. After wards. Levinsohn invited them backstage to express his admiration for Israel and Israeli arts. Levinsohn said that this was his first opportunity to meet with Israelis and that it was one of the greatest “moments in my life” to meet and watch Israeli dancers.
