Israeli diplomatic circles attach no particular significance to this week’s meeting between United Nations Secretary General U Thant and his special Mideast peace emissary. Ambassador Gunnar V. Jarring. Dr. Jarring returned to his post as Sweden’s Ambassador in Moscow last spring when the Four Powers commenced their deliberations on the Mideast. Mr. Thant announced on Friday that he would stop over in Moscow on his way to Burma Tuesday to confer with Dr. Jarring. Israeli circles said today that Dr. Jarring had intimated to Foreign Minister Abba Eban that he would not resume his peace-seeking mission in the Mideast until the Four Powers end their talks.
