The semi-official Egyptian weekly, October, will soon publish an article by a Tel Aviv University scholar, the first of several by prominent Israelis set to appear In the periodical. The author is Prof. Shimon Sharir, former head of the university’s Shiloah Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies.
He was invited to contribute to October by its editor, Anis Mansour, who visited Tel Aviv recently. Sharir’s article deals with ways to expand the structure of peace beyond the political level by efforts to change the image of enmity in the hearts and minds of Israelis and Egyptians. October will also publish articles by former Premier Yitzhak Rabin and former Foreign Minister Abba Eban.
