The “Israelitisches Familienblatt”, one of the most popular German-Jewish weeklies, has been suspended for three months by order of the authorities. Although suspension is only for three months, the proprietors, who have already dismissed their employees which comprise 53 non-Jews and only 7 Jews do not anticipate permission to resume publication after the three months. Were it not for the fact that the regulation under which the paper was suspended does not allow any suspension for a longer period than three months, it is thought that the paper would have been closed down permanently.
