Israel’s ambassador to the United States will step down in April. No successor has yet been named for David Ivry, as Israeli party leaders argue over a suitable candidate to fill the prestigious post. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon reportedly favors former U.N. Ambassador Dore Gold, but Foreign Minister Shimon Peres is opposed.
