Israel’s Cabinet appealed to the international community to take action against the new Austrian government because it includes “elements of a neo-Nazi nature.” Last Friday, Israel recalled its ambassador to Vienna, Nathan Merom, after the far-right Freedom Party of Jorg Haider became part of Austria’s governing coalition. The inclusion of the Freedom Party prompted violent demonstrations over the weekend in Vienna that left 56 people injured.
