Israel’s Chief of Staff Visits Border Troops; Urges Them to Be Patient

Israel’s Chief of Staff, Gen. Yitzhal Rabin, called today on troops to be patient during Israel’s current crisis. Accompanied by Southern Command and senior army officers, he visited units deployed on the Egyptian border and talked with many of the soldiers.

He told the troops that it was essential that Israel maintain top alertness and preparedness. He expressed satisfaction at the high spirits and combat readiness of the armed forces on the borders. In a broadcast on the Army radio station, Gen. Yitzhak reiterated the need for maximum alertness by all troops in the field in view of the recent developments on the borders.
