Maj. Gen, Moshe Dayan, Israel Chief of Staff, arrived here today to be guest of honor of the Jewish War Veterans, following a tour of the midwest that included such high spots as a social visit with ex-President Harry S. Truman, at Independence, Mo.

At Kansas City, Gen. Dayan and the Israel officers accompanying him went with Eddie Jacobson, Mr. Truman’s close personal friend, to synagogue services. A social call was made on Mr. Truman at his Independence home. The local press reported that Mr. Truman received Gen. Dayan with great enthusiasm, and told of his hopes for Near Eastern peace and for the growth and prosperity of Israel.

The Dayan party visited Louisville, Ky., where Mark Ethridge, prominent Louisville publisher and former United Nations Palestine Conciliation Commissioner, tendered a dinner attended by the Governor of Kentucky and other leading dignitaries.

At Ft. Sill, Okla., Army artillery center, Gen. Dayan was made welcome and taken on a tour of training installations. Weapons and facilities of various types were demonstrated.
