Israel’s Chief Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman arrived here last night for a two-week visit to this country during which he will officiate at the wedding of his granddaughter, Elena Unterman of New York, and will address various Jewish groups. Rabbi and Mrs. Unterman were greeted at Kennedy International Airport by some 100 Jewish religious leaders.
Rabbi Unterman said on his arrival that while in this country he would take part in discussions aimed at uniting various elements of Orthodox congregations in the United States. Tomorrow evening, Rabbi Unterman will deliver a major address at a dinner given by the Religious Zionists of America marking the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel.
