Israel’s Minister of Finance Pinhas Sapir today addressed the opening of Artis–a new business venture for the importation of art and craft items from Israel. The Minister pointed out that Israel’s exports are now 25 times greater than what they were 10 years ago, totaling $600, 000, 000 per year.
Much of the exports, he said are made up of products from small firms in Israel. He noted that the goods displayed at the Artis showroom were produced mainly by such small plants. Among the items displayed are original Israeli art imported through the Murray S. Greenfield Gallery, in Tel Aviv and New York.
