Israel began manufacturing rubber tires and tubes for automobiles and trucks for the first time today when the Hadera plant of the Alliance Tire and Rubber Company was formally opened at ceremonies attended by Premier David Ben Gurion. The company was formed by American and Israeli investors.
The ceremony marked the opening of the plant, which will manufacture tires for both local use and export, and the 60th anniversary of the town of Hadera. Acting President Joseph Sprinzak sent a message of congratulations to Mayor A.L. Berman of Hadera.
