Israel’s foreign minister endorsed efforts in the U.S. Congress to tighten restrictions on dealings with the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority. In a Cabinet meeting Sunday, Tzipi Livni “emphasized the importance of the bipartisan efforts in both houses of Congress to increase restrictions on aid to the Hamas government while keeping the option of continued humanitarian assistance,” a statement from the Foreign Ministry said.
