Israel’s Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom will attend Pope John Paul II’s funeral. Israeli officials said Monday that President Moshe Katsav also may pay last respects to the late pontiff if the Vatican decides to allow both an Israeli government representative and the head of state to attend.
