Israel’s foreign minister went to Mauritania, one of the few Arab states to have diplomatic ties with Israel. Silvan Shalom left Monday on a one-day visit to Nouakchott, during which he was to meet with top Mauritanian officials and tour a hospital built with Israeli government help.
