Israel’s fuel-saving law requiring every driver to dispense with the use of his car for one day a week will expire Friday and is not likely to be renewed. A measure to extend the rule for a year failed to reach the Knesset floor Wednesday. In all probability it would have been voted down. The restriction was legislated several months ago because of the fuel shortage following the Yom Kippur War.
