Israel’s gross national product rose by five percent during 1974, the same rate as in the previous year, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics. The rate of private consumption continued to rise, despite the government’s drastic budgetary measures, but the increase was less steep than in previous periods. Private consumption rose by seven percent in 1974 compared with nine-and-a-half percent in 1973, according to the Bureau of Statistics.
