Israel’s Imports in Eight Months Total $191,000,000; Exports Total $25,000,000

Imports into Israel for the period ending in August increased appreciably, a report issued by the government statistical bureau showed today. During the first eight months of 1950, the Jewish state imported goods valued at close to $191,000,000. During the same period in 1949 the total value of goods imported by Israel was approximately $148,400,000.

The government bureau also noted that during the first eight months of 1950, Israel’s exports–as compared with the same period in the previous year–increased 28.7 percent, to a total value of approximately $25,200,000.
