Israel’s Interior Ministry announced that it is taking special measures to respond to an anticipated rise in immigration from the former Soviet Union. The ministry said four new centers would be established to review potential immigrants’ eligibility. At the same time, rabbinic courts would speed up the process of verification of Jewish roots from three months to less than a month, the ministry added.
