Israel’s justice minister predicted that Israel will achieve peace with its Arab neighbors within one or two years. “I don’t think we will need more than that,” Yossi Beilin was quoted as saying Thursday in an interview broadcast in Qatar. Similar optimism emanated from Syria, where a Foreign Ministry official said, “Syria shares with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak the same wish to put an end to war.”
