Israel’s Knesset approved a bill intended to circumvent a recent Supreme Court ruling that Conservative and Reform representatives be appointed to local religious councils. The bill, which still faces two more votes, calls in part for religious council members to accept the rulings of the Orthodox Chief Rabbinate.
