Israel’s military intelligence chief said quitting the Gaza Strip would bolster national security. In a closed-door briefing Tuesday to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Maj. Gen. Aharon Ze’evi-Farkash also said Hamas was in disarray following Israel’s assassination Saturday of its leader, Abdel Aziz Rantissi.
