A proposed draft of Israel’s 1963-64 budget, totaling 2, 800, 000, 000 pounds ($933, 000, 000) and representing an increase of 18 to 20 per cent over the 1962-63 budget, was presented to the Ministrial Economic Affairs Committee today by Finance Minister Levi Eshkol.
It had been estimated earlier that the new budget would run about 15 per cent higher than the previous year’s. But the figures were increased in accordance with higher estimates in the fields of education and defense.
