Israel’s one and only ski resort and site on Mount Hermon has been put up for sale, for $15 million. Golan Heights Regional Council chairman Eitan Liss and ski site manager Eli Sagron said the Mount Hermon company which operates the site together with Moshav Neveh Ativ had a $2 million deficit and no chance of recovering it.
Expensive ski lifts and facilities have been built on the Mount Hermon slopes in recent years, under pressure from the Ministry of Tourism, which the spokesmen charged had not come through with the promised funds to help development.
