Israel’s police chief predicted a surge of Palestinian violence in response to President Bush’s support for Israel. Inspector General Shlomo Aharonishky made his comments Thursday at a symposium in Jerusalem. Palestinians were outraged by Bush’s support Wednesday for Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s plan for Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank.
