Israel’s political and military status has improved tremendously and there “is much going on in the world is in her favor,” Mordechai Zipori, Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister, told 300 guests at the Diamond Key Dinner here of Emunah Women of America. Citing such factors as the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the foreign policy views of President-elect Reagan, the establishment of 85 new settlements in Judaea and Samaria and the continued strength of diaspora Jewry, Zipori urged his audience to be heartened rather than discouraged by recent event in the Middle East. He pointed specifically to the growing rifts among the Arab states as particularly favorable for Israel.
