Israel’s president criticized a campaign by reservists against serving in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Asked about the campaign, President Moshe Katsav said the situation cannot be improved by breaking the law. Some 50 Israeli army reserve officers and soldiers published ads in newspapers last Friday explaining their decision to refuse to serve in the territories.
