Israel’s prime minister met with U.S. officials to go over Israeli plans for disengagement from the Palestinians. On Thursday, Ariel Sharon told the U.S. envoys in Jerusalem that the U.S.-backed “road map” peace plan is the only acceptable plan for Israeli-Palestinian peace and that the country was committed to it.
