Israel’s Security Cabinet approved a plan to set up barriers in the West Bank to fight car theft. Hawkish politicians oppose the plan, fearing it would give shape to a future Palestinian state. About 80 percent of the record 46,000 cars stolen last year in Israel were smuggled into the West Bank.
