Israel’s security is threatened by growing societal rifts, the head of the Shin Bet domestic security service was quoted as telling a conference at Tel Aviv University. Israeli society is “divided and polarized” between Arabs and Jews, secular and religious Jews, and the political right and left, Ami Ayalon said Tuesday. “Victory has as much, if not more, to do with people, with their willpower” as with “technological know-how,” he added.
