Justice Haim Cohn, a member of Israel’s Supreme Court, told a meeting of leaders of the legal profession here last night that the Institute of Jewish Law, Just established at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is of great importance to the future development of Israeli law.
One of the first and major tasks of the Institute is the compilation of the legal material contained throughout Jewish literature, he said. This will be of tremendous value in the formulation of legislation by the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, Justice Cohn told the gathering of New York judges and lawyers at the national offices of the American Friends of the Hebrew University.
