Israel’s U.N. ambassador criticized the United States for not opposing a Security Council meeting called by Syria on Yom Kippur eve. “I was very outraged and dismayed at the fact that the Security Council decided to hold this meeting, and the American ambassador” — who currently is the Security Council’s president — “succumbed so easily to Syria,” Dan Gillerman said.
